Author Guidelines
TANZIL is a journal under the auspices of Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Sadra which focuses on research on the study of the Qur'an from various disciplines of thought that aims to promote a theoretical, critical dialogue between academics and Qur'anic reviewers. This journal presents articles from the results of individual or group research, in the form of literature studies, including book reviews, character studies and field research. This study is expected to be able to open up diverse perspectives and deep understanding of the Qur'an.
TANZIL: Jurnal Studi Al-Quran is published twice a year, every April and October. Contributions are sent by following the writing instructions, as follows:
- The manuscript is an original scientific work that has never been published and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
- Manuscripts submitted can be in the form of conceptual, research results resume, book resumes, or character thoughts, part of a dissertation thesis that has been adjusted to journal standards. The article contains elements of new findings, which respond to contemporary issues and discourses, including the results of thoughts and research results related to the study of the Qur'an from various perspectives.
- Articles are written in English as many as 15-25 pages including references, bibliography, and tables (if any). The article is written on A4 paper using EB Garamond type size 12, typing 1.15 spaces.
- Manuscripts must be accompanied by an abstract in Indonesian and English, while manuscripts in English must be accompanied by an abstract in Indonesian and English. The abstract is arranged in one paragraph with a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 250 words and 1 space.
- The manuscript includes the Title, Author's full name, Author's agency, Email, Abstract (in Indonesian and English), Keywords, Introduction, Discussion, Conclusion, and Reference List.
- INTRODUCTION: consists of the background of the problem; hypothesis (if any); research purposes; and usually this section is only around 3-4 paragraphs or 2 pages. This section also includes some of the literature that forms the study’s theoretical basis or covers previous studies.
- The Discussion: section includes a presentation systematically involving data/information related to the research objectives; From the discussion, it will be known to what extent the research results are given meaning by the researcher or author, as well as the extent to which the author places limits on his findings. In this section the research results can be divided into several chapters, all chapter titles and sub-chapters are in bold, and do not use numbers/numbers in each title.
- CONCLUSIONS: are expected to include recommendations and suggestions written in one full paragraph that is not separate.
- The reference used is the main reference, relevant and the literature review is not too extensive. For example, there are no quotes from other people: ...Fazlur Rahman in Hannafi….
- The verse of the Qur'an in the article must be accompanied by a translation and include the name of the letter and the number of the verse.
- Hadith quotes are accompanied by the original text, translations, and sources.
- Articles that meet the requirements will be selected and edited by the editing team for uniform format and writing style without changing the content and substance.
- Confirmation of loading or disapproval of articles will be notified to the author by letter or email.
- The citation in the article uses the footnote technique. The literature listed in the Reference List is only literature that is referenced and cited in scientific works; The Reference List is written in alphabetical order without numbers.
- Citation in articles using footnote technique (footnote). The literature listed in the Bibliography is only literature that is referenced and cited in scientific works; the Bibliography is written/typed in one space, sequentially alphabetically without numbers.
- Citing and compiling the bibliography of Tanzil: Journal of Al-Quran Studies using the Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (Full Note) format.
- Articles recommended using applications such as Mendeley and Zotero to facilitate writing references.
