Tanzil: Jurnal Studi Al-Quran is committed to maintaining academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct.

To identify potential plagiarism, all submitted manuscripts may be screened using similarity-checking tools, including Turnitin or Plagiarism Checker X, as part of the journal's editorial assessment.

Kanz Philosophia uses a maximum similarity threshold of 25%. However, the similarity percentage is used only as an initial screening indicator and does not, by itself, constitute evidence of plagiarism. A manuscript with a similarity score above the threshold will be subject to further examination by the editorial team.

In assessing potential plagiarism, the editorial team considers the nature, location, extent, and source of the similarity. Similarity resulting from properly cited quotations, references, common terminology, standard expressions, or other legitimate textual overlap does not necessarily constitute plagiarism. Particular attention is given to significant similarity and/or relatively large blocks of text that can be attributed to a particular work, excluding properly identified direct quotations.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

1. Taking part or all of another person's work without properly acknowledging the source;
2. Rewriting part or all of another person's work without using the author's own language while presenting it as original work, even when the source is cited; and
3. Reusing part or all of one's own previously published work or ideas without appropriate acknowledgment.

Where plagiarism or another academic integrity violation is suspected, Tanzil: Jurnal Studi Al-Quran follows a transparent and documented procedure that may include:

1. Preliminary examination of the available evidence;
2. Clarification from the author(s) and/or other relevant parties, where appropriate;
3. Further investigation when necessary;
4. Editorial decision based on the available evidence; and
5. Appropriate corrective or editorial action according to the seriousness of the violation.

For manuscripts that have not yet been published, the editorial action may include rejection or withdrawal. For published articles, appropriate corrective action may include correction or retraction in accordance with the journal's Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction Policy.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and academic integrity of their submitted manuscripts. The journal, however, has a responsibility to assess and appropriately handle suspected cases of plagiarism and academic misconduct in accordance with its publication ethics policies.
